Looking for some FRESH dim sum in Orlando? Word of mouth and locals will point to Ming’s Bistro. Viet Town is known for all of its Asian restaurants and treats; and Ming’s Bistro is the people’s champ for dim sum.
Today my pledge brother, Danny Phu, graduated UCF! So his family took us all out for lunch. His dad ordered a feast: four orders of Siu Mai (pork and shrimp dumplings), shrimp dumplings, black bean pork, shrimp rice paste, tripe (two different kinds), steamed pork buns, taro, and so much more I can’t even remember.
For noobs, try the soy sauce mixed with chili sauce (you’ll find the sauces in the middle of your table). I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like the shrimp dumplings, so if you’re not familiar with dim sum, get that.
My Top 3 Dim Sum:
1) Shrimp Rice Paste
2) Shrimp Dumplings
3) Siu Mai
Fair warning for first-timers and other noobs: don’t expect great service. The people there can sometimes be unfriendly and hard to get a hold of. But if you’re going to eat delicious dim sum, you’re at the right place.
